Grade 4 students tuned into Visual Arts by decorating their names with Mindful Zentangles.
What is Zentangling and how is it different from doodling?
Doodling is drawing done without full attention when the person may be otherwise occupied. Some visual learners may doodle to remember an idea. Zentangling, on the other hand is a purposeful, detailed and focused activity requiring the full attention of the artist. It promotes mindfulness through focus and awareness. Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts were the inventors of Zentangle.
